For over a hundred years doctors and nurses have been using stethoscopes to
listen to their patients’ heart sounds. This skill is subjective and on the decline
— most medical professionals miss abnormalities in these sounds majority of the
time. In this paper, we present a new machine learning-based approach which
leverages the vast knowledge of an ever increasing number of physicians to help
a given physician interpret cardiac auscultation data.
